Simone Biles

Simone Biles was an American gymnast born March 14, 1997 in Columbus, Ohio. Biles is believed to be one of the greatest gymnasts. In the 2016 Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro she became the first female U.S. gymnast to win four gold medals at the same Games as well as the first gymnast in history to win three consecutive all-around world championships (2013-15). Biles was raised within Spring Texas in the Houston metropolitan area following the time she and her younger sister Adria were adopted by their grandparents Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone was first able to show an interest in gymnastics when she was a six-year-old during a school field trip at Bannon Gymnastix. Aimee Borman was her coach for the following eleven years. Biles received a silver medal for vaulting, as well as a gold medal on the floor gymnastics at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships. The year 2011 saw her begin playing in elite levels of the sport. Less than two years later she was a dominant competitor in the sport. Biles made headlines because of her unstoppable performance enthusiastic attitude as well as the amount of effort she introduced throughout each competition--vault bar, uneven bars, balance beam and ground exercises.
