Jacqueline Fernandez
Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan actor and model, who is especially active in Indian cinema. Her 2006 Miss Sri Lanka Universe title was also taken by her. Coming from a family with Canadian, Sri Lankan, and Malaysian heritage, Fernandez spent the early part of her life in Bahrain. After receiving a mass communications diploma from the University of Sydney, she spent time in Sri Lanka as a television reporter for several years before beginning to enter the world of modeling. She was one of Sri Lanka's top models after representing her country in Miss Universe 2006. When she was in 2009 on her professional trip to India she landed the role as Jasmine in Sujoy Ghosh's film 'Aladin'. In 2011 she was scouted for the part of Priya as the lead female in "Murder 2". Fernandez had a successful professional career post-film, which was both a success in the theaters and with reviewers. Her roles have since included films like Housefull 2 and 3, "Race 2," "Definition of Fear' and "Judwaa 2". Her work has earned her numerous awards and is a brand spokesperson for several multinational companies. As a committed member of the community she is an active supporter of numerous charities as well as a wide range of causes.
