Earl Simmons (December 18, 1970 - - April 9 2021) who was professionally known as DMX, was an American rapper and actor. His debut album It's dark and hot was released in 1998. The rapper began to rap in the 90s. 251,000 copies were sold within the first week. [5][65][6] DMX released his most-seller album, ... And Then There was X in 1999. The album included the hit track "Party Up (Up in Here)". His 2003 singles, "Where is the Hood At?" and "X Gon' Give It to Ya" are also commercially successful. The artist was the first to ever have an album that debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 charts five times consecutively. 7 DMX has sold over 74,000,000 records around the world. 8 DMX has been featured in films such as Belly Romeo Must Die (with Exit Wounds), Belly, Romeo Must Die (with Belly), Cradle 2 the Grave (with Cradle 2 the Grave) and Last Hour. He was the main character in the reality TV series DMX. Soul of a Man. It was broadcast by the BET cable channel Never Die Alone. He published E.A.R.L., his memoirs in 2003. : The Autobiography of DMX. 9. DMX started his career in the music industry at 14 in 1984 when he beatboxed for Ready Ron. After being sentenced for the theft of a dog, he began to compose his own lyrics. He also played at the local recreation centre for children less than 14 years old. In 1988, when he was being imprisoned for carjacking, the rapper began dedicating all of his free time creating lyrics, and also to performing with K-Solo. [3] When he was released that summer the rapper began making and selling mixtapes of his own in which he rapped over the instrumentals from songs. Jay-Z, Ja Rules, and Mic Gérardo appeared as guest performers on the underground hit "Time to Build" from Mic Geronimo in the year 1995.
